To factor (x + 5)2 - 4 ,
use the formula a2 - b2 = (a - b)(a + b),
Note that here, "a" is "x + 5" and "b" is "2", to get:
(x + 5)2 - 4 = (x + 5 -2)(x + 5 + 2) = (x + 3)(x + 7).
No more factoring is possible.
