PRONI (Public Records Office of Northern Ireland) retains Church of Ireland parish records, including records for the parishes of Carnteel, Errigal Keerogue, Cappagh, and for both Church of Ireland and Presbyterian Church. In 2008, Carnteel baptism, marriage, and burial records, and Errigal Keerogue baptism records were searched from earliest (1805) to 1860 for persons named "McFarland" linked to the townland Armaloughy. Searching after 1860, and searches of Presbyterian records was not requested.
The father of Andrew (the elder) appears to be listed on page 72 from the Carnteel Vestry book
(Mormon microfilm #1279327). Andrew (the elder) was about 11 years old in 1801.
