He is number 2057 in the Potter Genealogy book, and this number was written on a scrap of paper included in
the Potter album. This man is a descendent of Nathaniel Potter

- Jane Potter, married Nathaniel Schofield, living in Sandwich, Illinois for the 1880 US census. This couple had
two daughters, Ida born 1856, and Belle born 1859. Possible photo of Belle (Billie)
- Platt Potter, born February 1828 in New York; married first on 18 August 1853 in Illinois to Julia Alida having
3 children, William Eugene Potter, Nelly Potter, and Pernett Hart Potter .
Platt's second marriage on 10 April 1858 to Elizabeth Beubien produced 4 children, Charles Junius, Edgar,
Delbert Mark (Del), and Dennison Delbert Potter, aka Den or DD. It is unclear whether George B. Potter
was a fifth child, or related in another way. Potter Basin in Montana was named for Platt Potter who settled
the area with his six sons in the 1890's. Platt Potter buried in Livingston, MT.
- Julia Alida Warner, born 11 November 1832 in Litchfield, Connecticut, Married Platt Potter on 18 August 1853 in
Illinois, having 3 children, William Eugene Potter, Nelly Potter, and Pernett Hart Potter . Julia died
19 February 1858 in Newark, Illinois.
- Kate Vermilye, born 24 May 1861 in Illinois, married John Potter on 26 April 1883 in
Sandwich, Illinois, having children John Vermilye Potter Sr. and Laura Bernice, both born in Montana. Their
2 children were noted in the 1910 Montana census as living in White Sulphur Springs. Kate died 3 October 1936.
- John Potter, born 18 Feb 1844 (alternately Sept 1839) in New York, served with the
53rd Illinois infantry in the Civil War. Founded the first bank
in Montana, in White Sulphur Springs. Married Kate Vermilye, having children John
Vermilye Potter (Sr.) and Laura Bernice. John Potter died 16 April 1928. There was a second John Potter
(not closely related to us) born in Maine in 1834, who became the first postmaster in Helena, Montana.

children John Vermilye Potter Jr. and Laura Ann. John V. Potter Sr died 1972 in White

- John Vermilye Potter Jr., born 8 July 1932 in Livingston, Montana, later living in White
Sulphur Springs. Married 3 times, first to Donna Whitehead, with whom he had his only child (Marlys), secondly
to Minnetta McHenry, and thirdly to Linda (Lower) Cambell. John V. Potter Jr owns a photo album created
by his grandmother Kate Potter.
- Linda (Campbell) Potter, died in the Spring of 2004.
