Comment on the upper right photo:
There are 5 women cloely related to Catherine (McFarland) Wright who had children, namely:
Catherine's sister Jane, born 1811, whose 4 children were born between 1846 and 1857 The clothing date of about 1865 on the upper right photo suggests the 30-year-old woman was born about 1835, ruling out the first two women. Anastasia cannot be ruled out on timing, but Anastasia was an in-law, whereas Charlotte was Catherine;s sister. Also, a photo date of about 1865 is very near the date of birth (1866) of Charlotte's daughter Mary Anne, who married Catherine's nephew James Wright , so it is most likely that this 1865 upper right photo is Charlotte (McFarland) Kelly with infant Mary Ann (Minnie) |
Comment on the upper left photo:
Of the two alternate names for this person, Roberet Orr Clements is preferred because Robert's known birth year (1857 from 1911 census) is close to the birth year based upon dating clothing and the apparent age of the above young man, though the latter two features are subject to error. Thus, the above young man looks like a teenager, but he could be in his early 20s as well. On the other hand, James Alexander McFarland (son of Catherine's older sister Jane) was definetely born before 1858 when his father died (from the father's Will), and as early as 1847 (his parents were married in 1846), giving James an 1875 age of between and 17 and 28. Much of this age range is implausible for the perrson in the above photo. Kenny Clements (a relative of Robert Orr Clements living in 2017) does not have any data to bring to bear on the above photo. |
