Accofding to George De Vos in May 2001, this man's grandfather was in Moscow as part of
Napolean's Grande Armeé and walked back to Flanders as one of a few survivors, and
both lived in Zeveren near Deinze

children: Madeleine, Emile, Clara, Clarice, Irma, Cyril, and Josephine. Died at
about age 59
- Madeleine van Thournout, born 25 Feb 1904, came to USA at age 52-55, naturalized about 1960,
profession: nurse, married her first cousin Medard (Joe) De Vos but had no children. As of October 2005,
Madeleine was nearly blind, living in a nursing home near Santa Cruz, California, but could relate to visitors for a
few minutes each day. Madeleine died of a heart attack on 3 December 2005, about 2 months shy of her

- Medard (Joe) De Vos, born 16 March 1890, married
Marie Marina Tack in 1920, had one child (George A. De Vos),
re-married his cousin Madeleine van Thournout about 1958 but had no more children,
managed apartments, died about 1974
