Original home of immigrant John of Bucks County in Pennsyvania ?
This is claimed in the Landis Family reunion newsletter of 1932

Below : A similar home today in 2009;
Researcher (and house photographer) Landy Gobes, however, writes:
I believe this [below] is a completely different house.
In this part of Eastern PA there are one or two old houses like this in each
square mile! The main reason, however, that [above home] is not John of Bucks
County's house is that it is in Richland Township. All of California Road is
in Richland Township. I believe [the above home] is Jacob Landis's house. He lived
near California (a town) and in Richland Township.
John might have owned land in Richland - his Lower Milford property is right
on the township line - but he petitioned for the formation of Lower Milford,
and he was living in Lower Milford when he died.
It is likely that neither John nor his son Jacob had homes like this.
Elsewhere,
Landy Gobes describes how she searched for John's house |
