To Miss H P Robinson
Friend of a brief, but joy-replenished day -
Spirit o'er-full of unannest sympathy -
What can my lips at this our parting say,
But "God be with thee!" and "Remember me!"
Others around thee with gay smiles will come,
And take thy hand and friendly converse hold,
While I, afar within my own home,
Thy kindly face may never more behold!
Yet think of me, as of a friend who e'er,
Will wish thee well, whereever thou m,ayst be,
Who long within her memory will bear
The pleasant hours which she has passed with thee!
