Information concerning Thomas Cox and Albert Cox Sr. from a conversation with James Downey on 15 June 2004

• Thomas Cox apparently married on 3 Jul 1791 to Nellie Montfort, worked as a mariner (on Hudson River?). Died 1795
• Nellie Montfort, daughter of Albert Henry Montfort and Maria Montfort. Married Thomas Cox with whom she had two children, Maria (who was christened) and Albert Cox Sr.. Nellie married Matthew Brett on 2 March 1802
• Albert Cox Sr. born about 1793, a merchant, married on 12 Sept 1821 to Mary Dodge (daughter of William Dodge)
• A.M. Cox (Albert Montfort), born 1822 according to 1860 census, in New York. His obituary lists his birth as 28 July 1822, listed as "Hotel Manager" in 1860 Illinois census, where family is listed with about 10 hotel guests, suggesting that the Cox family lived on the hotel premises. Albert/Emeline Cox also listed in 1880 census from Sandwich, Illinois.
