- Christy (Col.) Potter, born 19 October 1790, married on 15 Nov 1812 to Lucy Smith, died 28 July 1845 (alt 1843).
The 1840 census lists a Christy Potter in ward 6, Providence, Rhode Island, 2 adults aged 40-50, male child 5-10, male child 15-20,
female child 5-10, female child 10-15, and female child 15-20. From the Potter genealogy book (named at the bottom of this page),
Christy and Lucy had 12 children, listed under Christy's wife Lucy below. Of these children,
Joseph Smith Potter (#154a born 1820), Charles Thomas Potter
(#155 born 6 Sept 1821), and Lucy Smith Potter (#156) are probably authors of
poems in a book of Poems dedicated to Hannah Potter Robinson, who was a daughter of Christy's sister
Mary Seager Potter. One possibility is that this family cared for
Hannah Potter Robinson after the deaths of Hannah's parents between 1821 and 1828.
- Lucy Smith, born 1798, daughter of Hezekiah and Alice Smith. Lucy married Col. Christy Potter, having 12 Children. Lucy died 1871. If indeed the family of Lucy and Christy Potter were caregivers
for Hannah Potter Robinson after the deaths of Hannah's parents, then Lucy (Smith) Potter may be
pictured in Hannah's photo album.

- Samuel H. Potter #133 (son of Henry Potter and Mary Seager) had at least one daughter Lucy A. Potter
- Mary Seager, no data. This person may not exist. The book Gardiners of Rhode Island by Robinson and Goodwin
exactly reverse these two Mary Potters. The Potter Genealogy book states "Mary Seager Potter born
1783, died Jan. 9, 1828; married April 24, 1803 Matthew Robinson b. 1772 d. 1825 son of Christopher Robinson"
- Mary Seager Potter, married 24 April 1803 to Matthew Robinson, died 9 January 1828 (alt 1836). It is not known
how these two Mary Potters are related, if at all. Data from Potter genealogy via Penny Krogstrand.
Mormon records (search under Matthew Robinson)
appear to identify the first as "Mary L. Potter, married 1797", and the second as
Mary Seagar Potter (married to Matthew Robinson on 24 April 1803, died 9 Jan 1828). The
Rhode Island Cemetery index
lists a Mary Seager (Potter) Robinson, born "1783c", died 9 Jan 1828, buried in Swan Point Cemetery,
Blackstone Blvd., Providence , R.I.
The name "Segar" also arises in the Brown family
