Personal Information and photo links below :
Writing in September 2001, the above tree must be called into some doubt, due to two discoveries.
[1] the birth certificate of Marina Tack names different parents, and
[2] communications of Chris de Veth of Belgium provide alternative trees
which are at least consistent with the birth certificate in [1]
- (grandfather) Henri Tack, had 10 children, of whom 5 came to
USA: Jules, Celina,
Marie Marina, Maurice, and Remy.
The birth certificate of Marina Tack names her father as
"Constantinus Tack", and "Henricus" is named (by Chris de Veth in 2001) as a brother of Constantinus
- (grandmother) Mathilde ?, no data, but these grandparents were probably born 1860-1875 in Belgium.
The birth certificate of Marina Tack names her mother as
Rosalie De Loof : the name "Mathilde" was placed on an old family photo by
George De Vos, and may be an error. If so, this grandmother is Rosalie (De Loof) Tack
- No data on Jules, Elvina, Remy, Irma, Celina, René, Maurice, or Herman
- Marie Marina Tack earlier had the child Georgina with a German named George Stegun, who went to Brazil to avoid military
service and sent money to Marina to join him. Marina used the money instead to come to America, where she met and
married Medard (Joe) De Vos.
- Georgina (Stegun) Van Steyvoort, born in Belgium, moved to Sao Paulo (Brazil) with her father (George Stegun) where she stayed until about
age 18. She then moved to Chicago, living with Marina Tack and Marina's new husaband (Joe De Vos). Marina's family arranged Georgina's
marriage to Frank Van Steyvoort. Georgina died in Detroit in 1988 leaving no children (This account from Susan De Vos 2000)
- George Stegun, German, had daughter Georgina with Marie Marina Tack, emigrated to Brazil where he had other children
- Medard (Joe) De Vos, married Marie Marina Tack in 1920, bearing son George A.
- Irma Tack, married a Mr. Heyndrickx, bearing sons Josef,
and Maurice, and daughters Simone and Maria:
all this information on Irma somewhat uncertain until George De Vos edits it
