Ah gentle friend remember me
Remember please that sweetest spot
Those happy hours I spent with thee
And then oh then forget me not

Shouldst - though to distant regions steer
Where friendships voice can reach the not
Change kindness with the changing year
Yet even then forget me not

But oh! may happiness be thine
Thy life be void of stain or spot
And when with Angels thou shalt shine
In that blest hour forget me not

The author is NOT Abby Dear Potter, daughter of Col. Christy Potter. Abby Dear Potter died as a child, alas. Hannah's cousin, William Champlin Robinson (Jr.) married Abby Shaw in 1827. Also, in 1887, Hannah's son John William Landis visited "Abbie" in Boston
