This is the only picture on this page. On the back of this photo is written "Dad's mother, Maria Vermilye Weir".
However, Glendon V. Weir writes on a matching photocopy prior to 1982 that this is Kate Vermilye Potter, wife of
John Potter (1883). Also, a copy of this photo occurs in the Potter album, where
Kate Potter identifies this as a photo of herself. The print was made by Charles E. Orr, Sandwich, with the
date 1883 machine-stamped on the back, which implies that the photo dates no earlier than 1883. |
