- Marie Marina Tack earlier had the child
Georgine with a German named
George Stegun, who went to Brazil to avoid military
service. George sent money to Marina to join him in Brazil, but
Marina used the money instead to come to America, where she
met and married Medard (Joe) De Vos.

Paulo (Brazil) with her father (George Stegun) where she

marriage to Frank Van Steyvoort. Georgine died in Detroit in
1988 leaving no children (This account from Susan De Vos 2000)
- George Stegun. Susan De Vos (in 2005) writes "my aunt
Georgina continued to correspond with people in Brazil, and I heard much about an Aunt
Hella (George Stegun's sister)....the Stegun family was well off and [George Stegun]
may have been a judge or other high German official". George had daughter
Georgina with Marie Marina Tack, and emigrated to Brazil
where he had other children. George and Marina never married. In February 2005, Daniel
Stegun, a great-grandson of George Stegun, contacted this writer from Brazil, and more
information is now available under George Stegun.
